Welcome to the President's Corner where we shall do our best to provide the
most up to date information about the happenings of the Prince William
Lassie League (PWLL).
Please remember the PWLL is a volunteer operated,
non-profit organization dedicated to serving the youth girls in our
community by fostering in them the principle of fair play, good
sportsmanship, competitive spirit, tolerance and friendship. The purpose of
the organization is to achieve these goals by offering opportunity,
participation and competition to all of the youth girls of our community.
Please remember also that we never have enough volunteers.
PWLL begins its forty-first year providing recreational
softball to the youth girls of our community. As part of that service, the
PWLL Board and other league volunteers have worked very hard to keep the
cost of participation down through fund raisers and corporate sponsorships.
I’m very pleased that this will be the seventh year in a row that PWLL has
not raised the cost of registration. When compared to other volunteer
sports leagues throughout Prince William County, we are very inexpensive and
a great sports outlet. If you own a business, or work for a business that
is looking for a great organization to sponsor, please consider the Prince
William Lassie League.
PWLL has several fund raising ideas this year that we
could use help from both the parents and girls of our league. Our ideas
range from holding a “family night” spaghetti dinner at Cloverdale Park to
car washes to help bring in corporate sponsorships. If you are interested
in assisting the league with any of these ideas, or other ideas you may
have, please contact our Ways and Means & Special Events Directors Kristin
AmBery and Christina Osburn respectively. Their contact information can be
found by selecting the “Contacts” link on our web page menu. If you have
any questions regarding the league, please feel free to contact me at my
email address
president@pwlassieleague.org.
Lastly to our players this year, please enjoy your time
playing softball and your teammates. For our Parents, please be respectful
and supportive of your coaches and the league umpires. Both of which are
doing their very best to provide an atmosphere of sportsmanship and fair
play. I want to wish all the teams good luck this season and pass along a
hearty thank you to all of our Coaches and Board Members. Lets Play Ball!
