The 2012 Season Prince William Lassie League Draft

The 2012 PWLL Draft will be held on Saturday, 10 March 2012, at the Ferlazzo Building, at 15941 Donald Curtis Drive, Woodbridge, Virginia  22191.  This is located at the Prince William County Office Complex near Route 1.  For a MapQuest map of the locale, please go to the MapQuest website.  You can obtain driving directions to get there, and can print a handy map as well!

The draft is not a try out!  Every player registered with us will be placed on a team.  This is merely an opportunity for the coaches to evaluate the skill levels of the players.

Draft times will depend upon which Division your player will be in.  Divisions are made up of players within specific age ranges:

Player's age on December 31, 2011: Division Draft Start Time
5 - 7 Instructional No Draft (Sleep in!)
  8 - 10 Pigtail 9:00 am
  11 - 14 Junior 10:30 am
  15 - 18 Senior 12:00 noon

When should my player arrive at the draft?
Please plan to arrive at the Ferlazzo Building 15 minutes before the start of your Division's draft.  This will allow you time to "check in" so that we know you have arrived, and we can add your player's name to the list of girls who will be at the draft.  There will be several League representatives in front of the gym to answer any questions and to show you where to go.

What happens at the draft?
The players will be called to the gym just before their Division's time slot.  They will be called up one at a time to hit a few balls, catch a few balls, and to run from one end of the gym to the other.

What should my player wear or bring to the draft?
Have your player wear comfortable clothes and tennis shoes.  We will provide everything else.  Your player can bring a glove if she likes but it's not necessary.

What happens after the draft?
Immediately after all players have finished, the Division director will meet with the Division's coaches to make team assignments.  You should hear from your player's new coach within a few days of the draft.  If you have not heard anything by Wednesday, 16 March, please contact your Division Director, listed below:
